I picked this book because I have seen it on Booktok and someone I follow highly recommended it. So, thank you to Scott, I have now read this book. I want to watch the movie, but it is only available on Hulu! Also, this was my first time reading anything by Taylor Adams. I will definitely be picking up more of his books! If you like Freida McFadden, Karin Slaughter, or Sally Hepworth you may enjoy this book.

Summary
A kidnapped little girl locked in a stranger’s van. No help for miles. What would you do?
On her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Thorne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in the mountains of Colorado. With the roads impassable, she’s forced to wait out the storm at a remote highway rest stop. Inside are some vending machines, a coffee maker, and four complete strangers.

Desperate to find a signal to call home, Darby goes back out into the storm . . . and makes a horrifying discovery. In the back of the van parked next to her car, a little girl is locked in an animal crate.

Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, and no way out. One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. But which one?

Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child’s life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.

But who can she trust?

With exquisitely controlled pacing, Taylor Adams diabolically ratchets up the tension with every page. Full of terrifying twists and hairpin turns, No Exit will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you breathless.

What I Liked
What I loved most about this book is that the entire novel takes place over a 10-12 hour period. I felt like I could not trust any of the characters and did not know where it was going. The intensity of this book gave me anxiety and a book hangover. I wanted to yell at Darby to look out several times! Chapters were a great length, and I enjoyed the writing style. It was easy to read, and I got through it very quickly. I could not put it down and was on the edge of my seat.

What I Didn't Like
What I did not like about this book is that it is not very realistic. I also had a bit of hard time with the fact that the whole book took place at basically the same location. That is the premise of the book, so that is just a "me" issue. 😆

Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐
I could not give this book five stars because of it not being super realistic, but I did enjoy the intensity of the story and the twists and turns it provided. It was an entertaining book, and I was fully invested.
